Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 5K run and 5K walk?
Sign up for the 5K run if you would like to be chip-timed. You are welcome to register for the chip-timed 5K run even if you plan to walk all or part of the course.
The 5K walk is not chip-timed. Walkers will start after the 5K run begins.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash short enough not to interfere with other participants. If you plan to run with your dog, please keep to the back of the pack. Owners must remain with their dogs for the duration of the event and may not leave them unattended. Because we expect a large crowd, dogs should be comfortable around noise, children and other dogs.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, push strollers are allowed. If your child remains in the stroller for the entire race, you do not need to register them as a separate participant. However, if your child will be outside the stroller at any point during the race, please register them. This helps ensure safety, accurate participant counts for city permits and proper event planning.
Are bikes or wagons allowed?
We ask that participants not bring wagons, scooters, bikes, skateboards and hoverboards. These items can create unpredictability, interfere with other participants and increase safety risks.
We value inclusion and access for all participants and are pleased to provide reasonable accommodations for this event. Please contact Hannah Berry at hannah@conservationco.org or 303-405-6708 to make a reasonable accommodation request. Requests must be submitted by Friday, August 7.

Will the race be canceled if the weather is bad?
The race will not be postponed or canceled due to weather unless conditions are severe, such as lightning or a tornado. In the event of severe weather, updates will be posted on our social media pages, on the race webpage and sent by email to registered participants.
