Frequently asked Questions.

FORGE FAQ

What is FORGE?
FORGE is a 12-hour endurance challenge based on the backyard ultra format. Runners must complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour, until the 12-hour mark. It’s a test of grit, strategy, and community. You don’t have to be the fastest—just keep answering the bell!

How does the event actually work?
Every hour, on the hour, all runners will start a new 4.167-mile loop.
You must complete the loop within the hour to continue.
Any runner who fails to complete a loop within the hour is out.
There are no make-up laps. If you miss a start, your race is over.
The event ends after the 12th loop (50 miles total).

What happens if I don’t finish?
If you can’t complete a loop within the hour or decide to stop, your race is over—but your experience isn’t! We encourage you to stick around, cheer on the remaining runners, and celebrate at the post-race dinner. FORGE is about more than just miles; it’s about community, shared struggle, and accomplishment.

Will there be food and hydration?
Yes! We will provide water and Tailwind at the starting area (the "village") before and after each loop. We will also have an abundance of  fun and run friendly food items. However, there are no aid stations on the course, so plan accordingly.

Is there space for me and my friends?
Yes! The start/finish village has space for you and your crew to set up chairs, relax between loops, and support each other throughout the event.

Are pacers allowed?
No, pacers are not allowed. The challenge of FORGE is running each loop solo, just like in a traditional backyard ultra.

Can I bring my pet?
We love animals, but for safety reasons, pets are not allowed on the course, but can hang out in the village.

Can I run with a stroller?
No strollers are allowed on the course. The terrain and format of the race make it unsafe for strollers.

What do swag do i get?
Every runner who completes all 12 loops (50 miles) earns:A FORGE belt buckle

All runners will get a FORGE sweatshirt and technical running hat and the pride of knowing you tackle the challenge.

What happens after the race?
The real reward is the post-race celebration! Whether you finish 4 loops or all 12, we invite you to stay for a community dinner, share war stories, and soak in the experience.

What kind of terrain should I expect?
Expect a mix of trails and dirt roads. We've aimed to find terrain that is fair but challenging—this is FORGE, after all. The course is very flat.

What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds. Preparing for FORGE requires commitment, and your entry fee helps make this experience possible for all participants.

Why Tackle FORGE?

Because hard things shape us. Because the struggle strips away the noise, leaving only the raw, undeniable truth of who we are.
