Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where does the race start?

A: The race starts at the boardwalk. Parking and the starting line are within blocks of each other. For details, click here for the course map (also available on the Race Information sub-menu).

Q: What time should I arrive at the race?

A: If you're picking up your packet on Race Day, please arrive between 6:00 AM – 6:45 AM. Race mornings can be hectic, so allow extra time.

Q: Is the race route available on the website?

A: Yes, you can view the course map here (it’s also located in the Race Information sub-menu).

Q: What is the race time limit, and is it strictly enforced?

A: The time limit is two (2) hours and is strictly enforced! Due to bridge races requiring special permission and coordination with local authorities, the time limit must be adhered to in order to continue organizing these events. Runners trailing far behind may not be allowed back on the bridge for their final loop.

Q: Where is packet pick-up?

A: Please refer to the Packet Pick-Up page.

Q: Can I register during packet pick-up or on Race Day?

A: Yes, as long as registration limits haven’t been reached. Please note that we cannot guarantee race shirts or goodies on Race Day.

Q: Do you accept credit cards at packet pick-up and Race Day registration?

A: Yes, we do!

Q: What is the minimum age requirement, and does it require parental consent?

A: The minimum age for the 10K is 6 years old, and a consenting parent or guardian must sign the waiver for participants under 18.

Q: Can I pick up a friend’s packet?

A: Yes, you can.

Q: I registered but couldn’t attend. Can I get a refund or defer my registration?

A: No. There are NO REFUNDS or deferments for this event, regardless of the reason. This policy remains in effect for all circumstances.

Q: I couldn’t attend. What are my options?

A: You can donate your entry to charity and receive a donation receipt. Alternatively, you can transfer your entry to another person. For more details on transfer fees and procedures, check the Registration page.

Q: I registered for the Texas Bridge Series; can I transfer my registration to another person?

A: Yes, but all three races must be transferred to the same person. We cannot split all-in-one registrations for multiple runners.

Q: I won an award but left early. Can you mail it to me?

A: No, we do not mail out awards after the race. You may be able to pick up your award at one of the packet pick-up locations. Please contact us after the race.

Q: Where do I get my timing chip?

A: Your timing chip is attached to your race bib.

Q: What if I forget my timing chip or bib at home?

A: If you forget or lose your bib, there is a $10 charge to issue a new one.

Q: The shirt in my packet doesn’t fit. Can I exchange it for a different size?

A: You may exchange shirts after the race if there are extras. However, shirts are ordered based on the size selected during registration, and there may be limited availability for exchanges.

Q: Will there be port-a-potties at the race?

A: Yes, port-a-potties will be located near registration and packet pick-up. Refer to the course map for more details.

Q: What is your contingency plan for bad weather?

Rain – The event will not be canceled for rain alone unless conditions become unsafe.

Lightning – The race will be delayed by 30 minutes each time lightning is spotted within 6 miles of the race site.

Tornado Warning – If a tornado warning is issued near the start time or during the event, the race will be canceled.

Q: Can I participate with a baby jogger or stroller?

A: No, due to safety concerns on the bridge, strollers are not allowed.

Q: Can I bring my pet/dog to the race?

A: No, pets are not permitted. Bringing a pet could result in disqualification.

Q: Can I participate in the race with a wheelchair?

A: Unfortunately, the race is not insured for wheelchair participants at this time.

Q: Can I wear headphones during the race?

A: While we strongly discourage headphone use (per RRCA guidelines), if you must use them, please wear only one earpiece for safety.

Q: What type of race shirt will I receive?

A: You will receive a technical shirt.

Q: Will there be non-water drinks at the aid stations?

A: Yes, Lemon Lime Gatorade will be available.
