How are 30 hour racer camp spaces assigned?

Camp spaces are first come first serve. Each solo participant and team will have a minimum of 12' x 12' "camp" space for staging their race. Racers may store whatever they like in this space. No open flames. Small one/two burner camp stoves are OK. Small 16oz propane cylinders only. You must carry in carry out all spent cylinders. NO gas generators allowed. We highly encourage the use of portable electric power banks.

Sleeping Accommodations:

Unfortunately, we cannot host camping at the race venue the night before the race. Racers and spectators may stay for the duration of the event on the racers’ staging spaces.

Will there be parking allowed on the property?

When racers arrive on Saturday morning they may drive near the race venue and unload their gear. After doing so they must find parking on the Pineland Farms campus. There is ample parking troughout the grounds, but racers and spectators may not park in the Pineland Farms Market lot, on the side of any road, or in any marked spaces reserved for businesses on campus.

Weather Information for May in Maine:

Expect daytime temperatures anywhere between 60 and 70 degrees and overnight lows around 45 degrees. Rain is always a possibility as we experienced in 2022. Maine May overnight temperatures combined with rain could be potentially hazardous for runners still on course. Please plan accordingly.

Are there age restrictions for this event?

While we do not have age restrictions in place, we ask that you use your discretion. We ask that any minors who sign up have an adult on site throughout the duration of their run.

Are spectators allowed?

Spectators are not only allowed, they are highly encouraged.

What are the courses like?

You can expect mostly wide, well groomed double track trails. Trail Festival courses are inviting, yet challenging. While they are not exceedingly technical, these are trails so you should expect rocks, roots, and ruts.

What about aid stations?

25k, 50k, and 100k: There are two water stops. Runners will pass each of them twice on each lap. One lap for the 25k. Two laps for the 50k. Four laps for the 100k. These two stops on course will have water, Untapped Maple energy shots, Pickle Juice Shots, Coca-Cola and other assorted snacks (all while supplies last). There will also be a water stop at the start/finish area.

5k, Canicross, and Sunset 5k: One water stop runners will pass twice.

10k: Two water stops.

15k: Two water stops

We will ensure that water will be available at all stops throughout the duration of the event. Other items such as pickle juice and "ultra snacks" will be available while supplies last. Ultimately, all race participants are responsible for their own hydration and nutrition.

Can I bring my camper/RV?

Unfortunately we cannot allow campers or RVs at the race venue. If you arrive with a camper and it can fit in a regular vehicle space at the Pineland campus you may park it there, but accessing it during the race will not be possible for racers.
