Course Rules & Safety
Help us keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone by following these rules:
· Be on time: Arriving on time and being ready for your event’s scheduled start is each participant’s personal responsibility. Late arrivals may not be permitted to start, and a recorded finish time or official result cannot be guaranteed.
· This event is insured and sanctioned by USA Track & Field. As such, we follow USATF rules, regulations and guidelines.
- Registered participants only: All runners and walkers must be registered for the event. Wear your assigned race bib visibly on the front of your body. Unregistered friends, family members, and pacers may not accompany participants on the course. Bibs may not be shared or transferred without race management’s approval.
- Pets: We love our furry friends, but pets are not permitted on the 5K (and 10K if applicable) race course. This restriction does not apply to service animals. Participants with service animals are encouraged to contact race management before the event so we can coordinate safe participation.
- Strollers: Strollers are permitted. Participants with strollers must start at the back of the starting field, always maintain control, and allow plenty of space when passing or approaching other participants.
- Bicycles and other wheeled devices: Bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, and inline skates are not permitted on the course, except for authorized event personnel. This restriction does not apply to wheelchairs or other disability-related mobility devices. Please contact race management in advance to discuss accessibility and course conditions.
- Headphones: Personal music devices and headphones are allowed but strongly discouraged. If used, keep the volume low enough to hear traffic, other participants, announcements, and instructions from race personnel.
- Course etiquette: Line up according to your expected pace, leave room for others to pass, and avoid blocking the course. Before slowing down, stopping, or changing direction, check behind you and move safely to the side. Use designated trash receptacles and keep the course clean.
- Follow the designated course: Complete the course for your registered event, follow course markings, and cross all required timing points. Shortcuts, unauthorized distance changes, or starting with the wrong event may result in disqualification.
- Follow safety instructions: Obey directions from race staff, volunteers, law enforcement, and medical personnel. Stay within designated course boundaries, remain alert to vehicles and other trail or road users, and do not assume you have the right of way. Report injuries or unsafe conditions to the nearest event official.
Race management reserves the right to modify the course, delay, suspend, or cancel the event due to weather, unsafe conditions, or operational concerns. Participants who disregard event rules or safety instructions may be disqualified or removed from the course.
Thank you for respecting fellow participants, volunteers, and race personnel!
