About Ryan Turner
Ryan Turner was a beloved son, brother, and friend who passed away January 17, 2007 from an unpredicted massive heart attack at the age of 27. He was born December 19, 1979 in Eugene, Oregon to Kim Humble and Harold Turner. Ryan was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Ryan graduated from the University of Oregon and continued on to dental school at the University of Michigan. Ryan was a second lieutenant in the US Army with plans to serve as a dentist upon graduating. Ryan played on a soccer team, flag football team, bowling team, and baseball team. He loved to travel and his goal was to see the entire world one destination at a time.
Turner's Trot was first held in 2008 and continues each year to honor Ryan's legacy with many current dental students and faculty attending as well as Ryan's classmates from the Class of 2007 and other School of Dentistry alumni.
