QUESTIONS ABOUT REGISTRATION?
IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
• Yes! You can register online for $15.00 or register on-site March 9 for $20.00. We will be accepting checks, cash and credit cards on site.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME?
• You can register ahead of time for $15.00 or you can register day of for $20.00. We will be accepting checks, cash and credit cards on site.
IF I PARTICIPATED LAST YEAR, HOW DO I GET MY LOGIN INFORMATION?
• If you have registered for events on RunSignUp before, you might have an account with them already! If you have forgotten your log in information, just click Forgot Password and follow the prompts.
CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE WALK IF I'M NOT ON A TEAM?
• Of course! Just register as an individual, we would love to have you join us.
HOW CAN I JOIN A TEAM?
• Simply click the social teams tab on our webpage and select the team you want to join. If you have additional questions, call or email Hilary at 205-934-6326 or hmurrell@uab.edu.
HOW DO I CREATE A TEAM?
• When you register online, you will have the option to create a social team. You can also create personalized t-shirts for your team! There will be a prize for best personalized team t-shirt, best team name, the team who raises the most money.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF TEAM CAPTAIN?
• To encourage your team to fundraise and answer any questions your team members might have.
QUESTIONS ABOUT FUNDRAISING?
IS THERE A FUNDRAISING MINIMUM?
• No. Just pay the registration fee, however, we do encourage everyone to share our event page on social media pages and spread the word to your family and friends.
HOW ARE DONATIONS MADE?
• Donations can be made through the Lace Up for a Cure website or mailed to the Cancer Center at the following address:

ARE DONATIONS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
• Yes. Just call Alex Huffman at 205-934-1603 and request the tax exempt form.
HOW DO I GET A WALK T-SHIRT?
• There are two ways to get a t-shirt: you can purchase one for $10.00 or raise $100 and get one for free! (they are really soft and comfy t-shirts).
CAN I STILL FUNDRAISE IF I CAN'T ATTEND THE WALK?
• Of course! Feel free to share our event page and pass along the information to friends and family asking them to donate to Lace Up for a Cure. If you have additional questions about not attending but fundraising for us, give Hillary a call at 205-934-6326.
CAN I FUNDRAISE AFTER WALK DAY?
• Yes! Although fundraising for the walk will be over, the Cancer Center accepts donations for the Fund for Excellence all year. For questions about donating, call Alex Huffman 205-934-1603 or ahuffman@uab.edu
QUESTIONS ABOUT WALK DAY?
WHAT SHOULD I BRING THE DAY OF THE WALK?
• Yourself, enthusiasm for finding a cure for cancer, walking shoes, your whole family (including four legged friends, and kids!) There will be fresh produce for purchase from Boozer Farms so don’t forget some cash too!
HOW FAR IS THE WALK?
• 5K or 3.1 miles. The route is mostly flat. Check our Lace Up for a Cure website to view the full route.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
• It may be cold, it may be hot, who knows, it’s March in Alabama! Dress for the weather and be comfy.
WHAT IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER?
• This is a rain or shine event! In the case that there is inclement weather that would be dangerous to walk in, we will notify everyone via email, fingers crossed this does not happen.
CAN I BRING A STROLLER?
• Yes! This is a family friendly event.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
• Yes! We love pets. Hand in Paw will have a tent at our event as well.
IS THIS AN OFFICIAL 5K? HOW WILL I KNOW MY TIME?
• As official as it gets. We will have a time clock at the finish line but also encourage you to wear a watch with a timer too.
