Tony Means Fun Run

Hi, my name is Skyler Fankhauser. My family and I are organizing a 5k fundraiser for our cousin, Tony Means, to help raise money for his medical bills. Our fundraiser will take place on May 28, 2016 in Orem, Utah. My cousin was diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS). LFS is caused from a missing copy of the p53 gene. Most of us all have 2 working copies of p53, a chromosome that suppresses cancer growth. Those who have LFS have a 90% risk of getting cancer in their lifetime, with a high risk that cancer will develop before the age of 30. Since Tony has been diagnosed, he has undergone several risky surgical procedures to remove tumors from his brain, as well as chemotherapy and radiation to fight the cancer. He and his wife have 6 children, all of which are under the age of 8, including a newborn girl. This man has helped change many lives in the Orem Community, and we would like to help give back to him and his family.
