|Ugly Sweater 10k||
Time10:00AM MST - 12:30PM MST
Join us in Park City for a special Ugly Sweater 10k fun run on December 9. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to join. It is not a race and there won’t be any bibs or timing chips. There also won’t be any deferrals or refunds for cancellations, so don’t ask. You will get to dress up and have fun with your fellow runners though!
UGLY SWEATERS ARE NOT ONLY ENCOURAGED, BUT REQUIRED!
If you have any questions about this race, click the button below.Questions?
We will be running the Pinebrook Loop, starting and ending at Park City Running Company. This is a 10k loop with 1,300ft of elevation with the first half being generally uphill, and the second half being generally downhill. The trail starts with a short ¼ mile section of road from the store to the trailhead and then climbs up about 2.5 miles to the peak at Emily's Bench. Once you've reached Emily's Bench, head back down the trail to the store. Right around the 4 mile mark, you hit the road again for another ¼ mile section connecting you to the next trail. Once on the trail again, you'll have a nice runnable trail with great views of Jeremy Ranch, Kimball Junction, and Utah Olympic Park until you reach the trailhead where you started. From here, a ¼ mile run back to the store is all that’s left and you’ll be done!
The course will be marked with green and red flagging to show you the way in case you are unfamiliar with the route. If you get lost, turn around and go back to where you saw the last marking or stop and wait for someone else who knows the route to catch up to you. Worst case, you will never be more than 1 mile from a neighborhood, so follow the lights and make your way back down the hill and call an Uber with your phone.
Quick overview of the course map. For an interactive map or to download a GPX file to import to your watch or MapMyRun data to send to the MapMyRun app on your phone, please scroll down to the very bottom.
Instructions on navigating with MapMyRun:
There is a single bathroom at Park City Running Company available for your use before and after the run. There are no porta-potties and no bathrooms on course so plan accordingly.
All ages are welcome to join as this is a fun run, but please read the course description and elevation profile and decide if your child is fit or capable enough to complete the course and do it in a reasonable amount of time.
Dogs are allowed on the Pinebrook trails, but please obey all leash and dog poop laws. There are no poop fairies out there so pick up after your dog and haul out their crap
Even though it’s a fun run, we still need some rules so here they are in no particular order:
1. Ugly Sweater required – If you don’t wear an Ugly Sweater, you may be subject to endless ridicule (or until you go home and can’t be made fun of anymore)
2. Have a good attitude – This is a light hearted fun run and not a race being hosted out of the goodness of my heart. Please have a good attitude, or don’t come.
3. Have fun – How can you not have fun when Ugly Sweaters and Running are involved?
The weather is unpredictable in Park City in the winter so it may be or get cold or even snow during the run, so be prepared.

At the conclusion of the fun run, there will be a Holiday-themed party. Bring your favorite Holiday dish, dessert, snack, or drink and hang out with the group.
We will be collecting donations for the Food Pantry at the Christian Center of Park City. They've specifically requested the following items:
They will accept food, but have specifically requested the items above. If you would like to bring food, make sure it is non-perishable and hasn't expired. No one wants that expired can of jalapenos or lima beans in the back of your pantry, just throw those away! If you donate expired food, it just gets thrown away since it can't be used.
