Description

The "Got Your Six Virtual Challenge " is a multi-discipline virtual event hosted by the Health Catalyst Military, Veterans, Families, and Allies Affinity Group (MVF&A). This challenge is aimed at raising awareness and preventing veteran suicide. Participants can walk, run, crawl, or ride to show their support and honor the sacrifices made by those who have served in the military. The term "got your six" is military slang meaning "got your back," and reflects the camaraderie and support that exists within the military community.

From the comfort of their neighborhood or favorite trail, participants can complete the challenge independently and at their own pace. Log your miles, feet, meters, or inches, and share your experience with our Health Catalyst MVF&A Slack Channel. Our only rule is that it must be in an increment of six (6 miles, 6 KM, 6 feet, 6 inches). The deadline to complete your distance is June 6th. Do you see what we did there? 6/6/2023.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, dedicated to supporting veterans' and first responders’ mental health and suicide prevention. Whether you walk, run, crawl, or ride, your participation will help raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Join us in this virtual challenge and show your support for the brave men and women who have served our country, and work towards preventing veteran suicide and ensuring that every veteran has access to the support and resources they need.

Unconventional prizes will be awarded for unconventional reasons, so everyone has a chance. Get out there and make it happen…. We Got Your Six!
