Event Description
Join us for the Running Is Lit 5K for Literacy on Saturday, September 19 in beautiful Abingdon, Virginia! Whether you’re an experienced runner, a casual jogger, or prefer to walk, this community event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities.
Your $20 registration helps support Literacy Partners and their mission to provide children and families with access to literacy resources. Funds raised also help cover event costs, with any remaining proceeds going directly to Literacy Partners 2026 NYC Marathon Fundraiser.
Come enjoy a fun morning of fitness, community, and giving back. Invite your friends and family, lace up your running shoes, and help us make a difference—one mile at a time!

Event Location
The race will begin at Y Park in Abingdon, Virginia, just a short walk from the start of the Virginia Creeper Trail. Participants will enjoy a scenic, paved course along one of the area’s most beautiful trails. Free parking is available nearby.
