Description
The DC Road Runners Club and the Potomac Valley Track Club are hosting the Family
Night at the Track and Meet of Miles on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at
Yorktown High School in Arlington, Va.
The meet will include 400 meter and 800 meter fun runs for kids, multiple heats of the mile,
and a 3000m run.

Schedule
- 4:30 p.m. - start check-in
- 5 p.m. - Age 4 and under 400m (with parents running alongside if desired)
- 5:15 p.m. - Age 8 and under 800m
- 5:25 p.m. and rolling schedule after that:
- Race walk mile
- Age 14 and under mile (boys and girls)*
- Open mile (15-39)*
- Masters mile (40 to 59)*
- Grandmasters mile (60 and older)*
- 3000 (one heat)
*Heats may be split or combined depending on the number of entries
Awards
All participants in the kids runs get ribbons.
Gift Card - Male and Female winner of each heat of the Mile and 3K
Refreshments
Water, Gatorade and snacks will be available.
Entry fee
Children 8 and under run FREE.
$10 - Runners in Mile can also run the 3K at no addiontional cost.
Timing
The event will be manually timed, and the results be posted on the DCRRC and PVTC websites.
