Take a Saturday morning trip to Ashland, VA (just 16-miles north of Richmond) and experience the quaint town dubbed The Center of the Universe! The Patrick Henry Half Marathon offers views of lush fields, historic homes, passing trains, and much more. Watch the sun rise as the race starts and end your journey at Poor Farm Park. It’s the perfect half to round out your race calendar and enjoy an event experience without any hassle or fuss!

Drive-thru packet pick-up at Sports Backers Stadium (100 Avenue of Champions, Richmond, VA 23233)


There will be NO race day packet pick-up.


All Sports Backers Marathon Training Team participants will have the opportunity to pick up their race bib the weekend prior to the race at your MTT weekend run.




6:20 a.m. - First block starts

Start times will be organized within 20 minute time blocks with a break in between blocks. Within each time block, groups of 16 participants will start every 2 minutes.


The 3 hour course limit will go into effect when the last start wave begins the race.


10:40 a.m. - Course closes

Starting Waves


During registration you will select a start time block. Within each time block, groups of 16 participants will start every 2 minutes. Blocks are limited to 128 people.

  • Wave 1: 6:20am - 6:40am

  • Wave 2: 6:40am - 7:00am

  • Wave 3: 7:00am - 7:20am

  • Wave 4: 7:20am - 7:40am

Sports Backers created Kids Run RVA to make running & active living fun & easy. Kids Run RVA promotes physical activity to youth across the Richmond region & encourages more kids to get moving more often. Between our programs & events, Kids Run RVA instills healthy habits that continue to flourish into adolescence & adulthood.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced schools to close their doors, but moving is not cancelled. Kids Run RVA has a library of free online video workouts designed especially for kids!

Richmond Road Runners Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, whose mission is to support running and healthy lifestyles in the Richmond Region. We do this by hosting races, sponsoring races in our area, helping other organizations put on races, coaching training teams, supporting kids' running programs, supporting a variety of group runs and awarding academic scholarships to college-bound runner athletes. Club members are runners/walkers of all paces, ages, & shapes. With approximately 2,000 members, RRRC is one of the largest running clubs in the U.S.

We are a non-profit org. dedicated to producing quality sporting events & programs that motivate residents & visitors to be more active, supporting youth running & fitness programs, & advocating for safe bike & pedestrian infrastructure. 

Recently, we had to stop in-person Spring events & programming. Our staff is working hard to create virtual & social distancing options including virtual fitness classes, kids physical activity videos, & fun workout challenges/events.
