Event Information
Join us on Sunday, May 3, 2026 for the Huckleberry Jam presented by Roots Realty Group! This is the 3rd event in the 2026 RunAbout Race Series. The Huckleberry Jam offers two race options - 8.1 miles and 2.5 miles. Both race distances are point-to-point courses finishing at RunAbout Sports. For a fee, shuttles will be available to transport runners back to the start line upon completion.
RunAbout Sports will be donating net proceeds from the race to the Friends of the Huckleberry Trail. The group uses 100% of donations and funding for the engineering and construction of the Huckleberry Trail and the amenities along the trail.
Race Day Schedule (Sunday May 3)
- 6:45am - 7:45am: Packet pickup @ start line
- 8:00am: 8.1 Mile Race start at Christiansburg Rec Center
- 8:30am: 2.5 Mile Start at Corporate Research Center
- ~9:20am: Shuttle service back to start begins
- ~10:15am: Shuttle service ends (after last finisher)
Awards
All runners who finish either race earn a rail-road spike finisher award.
8.1 Miler: Overall awards for the top 3 male and female finishers. Top 2 finishers in each age group also receive an award.
Age Groups: <=17, 18-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35- 39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Return Shuttle:
Participants may purchase an add-on shuttle ticket for $5 when registering. You are not required to purchase a shuttle pass. The first shuttle will depart the finish line at approximately 9:20 am and the final shuttle will depart after the final finisher - approximately 10:15 am.
Race Shirt:
All participants registering on or before April 19 are guaranteed a race shirt. Additional shirts will be ordered and available while quantities last.

Parking:
Parking is available at the Christiansburg Rec Center for the 8.1 mile race. Parking is available at the Corporate Research Center for the 2.5 mile race. Spectators and those picking up runners from the finish may park near RunAbout Sports in the First & Main shopping center.
Course Information
2026 is a reverse course! The start and finsh lines are flipped from previous years.
The 8.1 mile course starts behind the Christiansburg Rec Center. The course runs along the Huckleberry Trail all the way to RunAbout Sports in Blacksburg. There are 2 aid stations along the course offering water and gatorade at 3.5 miles and 5.7 miles.
The 2.5 mile course starts at the edge of the Corporate Research Center on the path along Research Center Drive. The path quickly connects to the Huckleberry Trail and covers the last 2.5 miles of the 8.1 mile route, ending at RunAbout Sports. There are no aid stations along the 2.5 mile course.
Strollers are allowed on the course and both race distances are stroller-friendly. However, dogs are not allowed on the course so please leave them at home or with a non-running spectator.
