Michael B. Perry 5K MADD Dash

Phi Sigma Pi welcomes the Virginia Tech and Blacksburg community in remembering the life of Michael Benjamin Perry, a Blacksburg Native and fellow Hokie who was taken from us during the Summer of 1997. The 20th Annual Michael B. Perry 5K MADD Dash is held in honor of our fallen Brother who was victim to a drunk driving accident. All proceeds from this year’s race will benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

For those participating on Saturday, October 1, 2016, please read through the information below to best prepare for the race.

Parking

We recommend parking in Smithfield Road Lot and Duck Pond Road Lot on Virginia Tech's campus. You can see a map of VT’s parking at http://www.parking.vt.edu/docs/maps/parking_map.pdf

Registration and Check-In

Check-in location will be across from the Smithfield Road Lot in the field along Smithfield Road

               Look for the tent!!

Check-in time is on October 1st from 8-8:45 AM

Runner bags and Poster

Get your runner’s bag at Registration/Check-in which will include your run bib and t-shirt (if you ordered one)

Sign the poster pledge not to drink and drive at Registration/Check-in 

Run Start

The start line is on Smithfield Road in front on the Corps of Cadets Obstacle Course

At 8:59 AM, volunteers will raise a “Moment of Silence” sign and the race will begin at 9 AM

Route Map

Watch for volunteers in brightly colored vests along the way- they will direct you

2 water stations will be available along the route so stay hydrated!!

Post-Race Activities

Awards and Raffle prizes will be awarded after all runners have crossed the finish line (appx 10 AM)

Inclement Weather

The race will take place rain or shine so dress appropriately!
