Description
On April 8th, 2018, the University of Virginia’s chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta will be hosting our eighth annual Run For Yeard’s 5k. The event is held in honor of Theta sister and lacrosse player, Yeardley Reynolds Love, who tragically died in a domestic violence incident in 2010. Yeardley was a dedicated student-athlete and a light to all that knew her. The race aims to bring together University students and the Charlottesville community to remember and celebrate her beautiful life. Proceeds from the event will go to Kappa Alpha Theta’s Yeardley Reynolds Love Endowment Fund and the One Love Foundation. The Endowment honors Yeardley's kindheartedness and constant generosity by assisting active members and alumnae in scholarship, programming, and support during times of need. The One Love Foundation aims to end relationship violence through education and technology and encourage and develop in children and young adults four qualities that Yeardley exemplified –service, kindness, humility and sportsmanship – which together add up to One Love. Even if you cannot join us for the race in Charlottesville, you can still honor Yeardley and support this important cause.
