Earth Day 5k & Youth Mile

As part of the Chesterfield County's Earth Day Festival, the event will be held at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds on Courthouse Rd. This will be a great way to celebrate outdoors and fitness on this special day. 

The Earth Day 5k & Kid’s Mile courses are flat and fast.  The 5k starts and finishes with a loop of the Fairgrounds followed by an out and back loop along a beautiful paved bike/walk trail before completing another loop of the fairgrounds and crossing the finish line.  The Kid’s Mile is simply one loop of the Fairgrounds which is super spectator-friendly.

Finisher’s Medals & Awards

Every finisher will receive a finisher’s medal.  Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall in the Kid’s Mile and 5k as well as a variety of age group categories.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, the Earth Day Festival will bring together county departments, businesses, nonprofits and residents in a celebration of safeguarding our natural resources. The Earth Day festival will commence with Live Red Foundation's 5k race and youth mile run followed by loads of entertainment, food trucks and outdoor activities, as well as demonstrations from Parks and Recreation and Cooperative Extension.

Full Race Day Schedule

7:00-8:00 am – Packet Pick Up & Race Day Registration
8:00 am – Kid’s 1 Mile Run/Walk Start
8:30 am – 5k Run/Walk Start
9:45 am – Awards (approximate, after last finisher)
10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Chesterfield Outdoor Fest

All ages are invited to run / walk the 5k.

Youth Mile

Youth ages 15 and under are invited to run / walk a safe, closed 1-mile course.
