This is the major fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew, a grassroots community organization whose mission is to simply connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways.
All runners get a race T-shirt. The Course starts in Crozet Park and continues on the Crozet trail system to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts), and finishes back at Crozet Park.
There will be prizes for overall male and female: first, second and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor!) after the finish. Online registration ends Thursday Oct. 27st at 5pm. There will also be a few prizes raffled off to all participants.
In person registration takes place at Claudius Crozet Park on Saturday, October 28th starting at 9:00am.
Packet Pick-up is at the race site 9am -9:45am on Saturday morning.
There will be a shorter course (the family fun run) in addition to the 5k. The course will start in Crozet Park and go by the dog park. After the bridge it will turn left on a recent extension of trail(~.75-mile) and back to the park. This section will eventually connect the trail to downtown Crozet. Registration is $15 (on-line and $20 in person) and all registrants get a t-shirt (but no timing or places are awarded). Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family fun run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant.
This year we will have a limited 10k trail race!
*** POST RACE PARTY at the finish. With live music and Starr Hill beer. All of the proceeds will go to Crozet Trails Crew
11am - 1pm
