Patriot Challenge: Anglers Park, race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Start Independence Day off with the Patriot Challenge at Anglers Park. If you are interested in signing up for the 2020 Patriot Challenge, please read the rules and regulations below. Call (434) 793-4636 with any questions.

Pre-register 4 Miles on the 4th - $30
Pre-register 4 people for the 4 Miles on the 4th (must register by June 30 over the phone (434) 793-4636) - $100
$40 the day of the race (Cash Only)

There will be some changes for the race, of course, as we work toward providing a safe environment for runners and adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE 2020 PATRIOT CHALLENGE

Packet Pickup will be Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday, July 2 from 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Danville Welcome Center, 645 River Park Drive, Danville, VA. 24540. You are asked to observe social distancing and masks are required at the Danville Welcome Center. 

PARTICIPANTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER PRIOR TO RACE DAY.

THE DAY OF THE RACE - staggered starts will be utilized. The first group will start at 8:30 a.m. with each group starting shortly thereafter.

Groups of 10 will be organized and arranged so each waiting area is six to eight feet away from the adjacent group. Please kindly observe and adhere to areas marked off for your waiting group.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING BYSTANDERS OR OBSERVERS WITH YOU.

You are asked to WEAR A MASK IN THE STAGING/WAITING AREAS. Please bring your own mask, and if you do not have one, a limited number of masks will be available.  You do not have to wear the mask while running and a trash receptacle will be provided at the start line for you to discard your mask. 

THIS IS A CHIP TIMED RACE. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN BASED ON CHIP TIMES. Timing will be conducted by Blue Ridge Timing, Lynchburg, Virginia. 

IMPORTANT: THERE WILL BE NO HYDRATION PROVIDED ALONG THE COURSE. NO WATER STATIONS!

BRING YOU OWN HYDRATION!!!

AWARDS: IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT THERE WILL NOT BE A POST RACE CEREMONY. Winners will be notified to pick up awards at the Danville Welcome Center or awards may be mailed. 

MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF THE DAY- WE WILL HAVE ICE CREAM.  EAT ICE CREAM!!
