37th Annual River City 5K Run/Walk. Flat and fast, combination of street & paved park trail. Special pricing for 19 and under ($10). This year the race features a new course that begins at 215 Main St., Danville, VA 24541. This is an out and back course starting and finishing on MLK Bridge. The flat course will run along the beautiful Riverwalk Trail by the Dan River. THIS IS A CHIP TIMED RACE. ALL AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN BASED ON CHIP TIMES. Timing will be conducted by Blue Ridge Timing, Lynchburg, Virginia. Groups of 50 will be organized and arranged so each waiting area is six to eight feet away from the adjacent group. Please kindly observe and adhere to areas marked off for your waiting group. WE RECOMMEND FOR YOU NOT TO BRING BYSTANDERS OR OBSERVERS WITH YOU. You are asked to WEAR A MASK IN THE STAGING/WAITING AREAS AT ALL TIMES. Please bring your own mask, and if you do not have one, masks will be available. You do not have to wear the mask while running and a trash receptacle will be provided at the start line for you to discard your mask. AWARDS: IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT THERE WILL NOT BE A POST RACE CEREMONY. Winners will be notified to pick up awards at the The Brick at 410 Main St. or awards may be mailed. You must register by September 27 to guarantee your shirt size. Some additional shirts will ordered.
