This is Race #1 in the 18th annual running of the 3-race RRRC Cul-de-sac 5K Series. Join us to race or walk the rolling hills through the Wyndham community in western Henrico County. There will be a race series competition for runners who register for all 3 races AND who finish all 3 races.
Choose the Cul-de-sac 3-Race (or 2-Race) Package to sign up for all three 5Ks and test yourself on the same fast course three times. You'll save $1.00 per race off the listed price on each race (does not apply to youth pricing) and only pay one processing fee. You can use the package option to sign up for just two races, but you will not be eligible for the Series Competition.
Bottom line: Use the Package to sign up for all 3 races -- a RRRC member pays $21.00 and a non-member pays $39.00, plus the processing fee on one transaction. The price increases on June 15.
Richmond Road Runner Club members receive a $6.00 discount off the listed (and already low) race price for each race. All discounts are applied automatically at check out.
The 5K (3.1 mile) course is a mostly flat, fast loop on Wyndham neighborhood streets that challenges you with 3 cul-de-sacs early in the race.
The race is run on open roads monitored by course marshals and with traffic controlled by Henrico County Police. Follow their direction and watch for car/truck traffic.
This is a road race conducted under the rules of USATF and RRCA. In consideration of the safety of all participants, the following are not allowed on the course during the race: baby joggers, baby strollers, animals (on or off leash), skateboards, inline or roller skates, and bicycles. The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, RRRC encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Cul-de-sac 5Ks.
Please do not warm up or cool down in the middle of the streets.
Runners must be 8 years of age or older to participate in this hot weather race. Runners who are 8-9 years of age must be accompanied for the entire race by a parent, guardian or coach, who is registered for and running the race.

The series competition for this year’s Cul-de-sac 5K Series is designed to encourage competitive running and racing for place among runners in 10-year age groups over this 3-race series.
There are 12 competitive categories based on age and gender. Age groups are: 8-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-99. Age group placement is based on the runner’s age on July 1, 2019.
For each 5K race, points will be awarded to all finishers in each age group. The top 9 finishers in each age group will receive points as follows:
Runners must run and finish all three 5K races to be eligible for awards based on the series competition points. The three (3) runners with the highest point totals in each 10-year age group will receive awards at the closing awards ceremony on July 15. Any point ties for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place within each age group will be resolved by assigning higher standing to the runner with the fastest time in the Cul-de-sac 5K #3 on July 15.
Those 36 top runners in their age groups will be sharing a total of $720.00 in gift certificates from Lucky Road Run Shop: 1st - $30; 2nd - $20; and 3rd - $10.
Click on your age group to see the points and place in the overall series competition. Click link for "include event details" to see the points and place for each of the three races.
The race director and the series competition scorer reserve the right to revise these rules in the case of race cancellation or postponement based on severe weather or for other unexpected circumstances.
There is no giveaway for participating in this specific race.
Runners who complete all three (3) races will receive a Cul-de-sac 5K Series race singlet. Your preferred singlet size will be asked as part of registration for Cul-de-sac 5K #3. A race singlet will be guaranteed for runners who register for the 3-race series by June 24 AND who complete all 3 races. We will do our best to provide you with, but cannot guarantee you will receive, the size of singlet requested. Runners who register after June 24 AND who complete all 3 races may be able to get an unclaimed singlet after Cul-de-sac 5K #3.
