JMU Faculty/Staff 5k 2019

The FREE race will take place on September 14th, 2019 at 9 AM. The start/finish line is at the University Park Athletics Gatehouse located at 1090 Devon Lane, Harrisonburg, 22801

GENERAL INFORMATION:

James Madison University is excited to hold the 2nd annual Faculty/Staff 5k race. The stroller friendly fun run/walk will be held at University Park where participants and spectators will enjoy convenient parking, a covered start/finish line, and a rolling 5K route through U-Park. Participants and spectators are encouraged to remain after the race and enjoy JMU's University Park.

COURSE:

You can find a link to the race map at the bottom of this page. The course will consist of two laps through U-Park and around upper parking lots U2 and U3. Bathrooms and picnic tables are located near the Gatehouse and spectators will be able to relax and cheer in the shade as they watch the racers pass by. Water stations will be provided on the course and at the finish line.

RESULTS:

Chip timing is provided by Blue Ridge Timing. Results will be posted at the finish line as well as on the registration page under results. 

AWARDS:

All finishers receive a race memento at the finish line and awards will be given for the fastest male and female finisher. Stick around for additional prizes which will be randomly drawn at the finish line. Anyone could be a winner!

PARKING:

Race day parking will be available in parking lot U5 which is accessed from Port Republic Road. Limited parking is available in lot U1 for spectators and participants with limited mobility or small children. Please note that lots U2 and U3 will be closed for parking during the event.

FURRY FRIENDS:

Please leave pets at home. Dogs, cats, chinchillas and other pets are not allowed in University Park. 

BIB PICKUP:

Runners and walkers can pick up their race bib at the start line starting at 7:30 AM on September 14th.
