New Date: October 23, 2021
Due to the updates relating to the coronavirus and the continued health issues associated with crowds and close distancing, we have again postponed the Osprey 10K and 5K Run/Walk at Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Despite the efforts of the medical field to overcome the COVID and provide the vaccines to the public in the "near" future, we are concerned about the timing of the Osprey 10K / 5K race planned for April.
We will keep you updated along the way and look forward to seeing you in October.

Despite the huge efforts by the medical field to overcome the Covid and provide vaccines to the public, the 5th annual running of the Osprey 10K Run and 5K Run-Walk at Smith Mountain Lake State Park will be postponed and will take place on October 23, 2021. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park Inc. We are a volunteer 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting the use, enjoyment, and appreciation of the Park. All proceeds go to benefit programs at the Park and foster environmental stewardship and education.
The Osprey Run/Walk is an event suitable for participants of all ages and activity levels. The course follows a beautiful route in one of the most beautiful parks in the State of Virginia. Along the paved route, runners will catch views of Smith Mountain Lake, wooded forests, and the shoreline along the way. The route has easy rolling hills throughout and ends with a downhill finish.
Chip timing provides accurate results and will be displayed right after completion of the event. Runners will be treated to recovery drinks, fruit and energy bars. Top finishers and age group winners for men and women will receive awards. Runners will also receive quality race shirts as a memento of their accomplishment. (NOTE: Shirts can not be guaranteed for registrations received less than 14 days prior to race day.)
We look forward to seeing you on October 23, 2021 !!
