Liberty University Campus Recreation and Alumni Relations are proud to present the first ever “Celebrate Liberty 7.1k”! We are excited to embark on a new tradition of celebrating Liberty University and the liberty granted to us by our great nation during the 4th of July holiday. We hope that the Liberty family, past and present, will come together as Champions during this week-long event.
This race is composed of two event opportunities, so that wherever you are, you will be able to come together and celebrate with Flames Nation this 4th of July!

Celebrate Liberty @ Liberty Mountain
This is an open trail, 7.1K challenge (4.41 miles) that is marked on the Liberty University Liberty Mountain Trail System. The start and finish is at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, 4000 Candlers Mountain Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502
This event will incorporate the RaceJoy app and it will create an interactive and dynamic race day experience. Using RaceJoy will provide you:
- A unique and personal race day experience!
- GPS tracking of your run. Complete with progress alerts, off-course alerts and an interactive course map!
- A custom audio experience featuring announcements and encouragements from our team!
- Remote spectator cheer sending!
- Automatic result upload, live updates, and ranking.
Celebrate Liberty Anywhere
Complete a 7.1K (4.41 mile) distance from ANY location. Your run /walk needs to be completed in a single session. You can redo your distance as many times as you wish.

Make sure to complete your free registration here so that your progress and results data can be automatically submitted from the app. After registering, you will be issued a bib number that you will need for your setup in RaceJoy in order to have your data submitted from the app (otherwise you can manually submit your finish time).
You will need to download the RaceJoy app to your phone and access the "Celebrate Liberty" event. Click "I Want to Be Tracked" and follow the prompts. Here is a How-To article for setup instructions. Please make sure your sound is on and turned up and that you respond to any in-app prompts for setting adjustments.
FINISHER AWARD
2023 Challenge Coins will be mailed out or available for pickup to those runners who complete either event! Be a part of history by participating and receiving your medal for the very first Celebrate Liberty 7.1k!
T-SHIRTS
T-shirts for this event may be purchased for $15 during registration. The T-shirt deadline for this event will be June 16, 2023.
