MEET COACH EMMA

"Hello! My name is Emma Schmideler and I am going to be coaching this 8 week beginner 5k training program!

A little bit about me, I am currently a senior at Liberty University and will graduate this spring with my bachelors degree in exercise science: fitness specialist along with a minor in strength and conditioning.  I am certified by the ACSM as an exercise physiologist as well as by the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning specialist and love everything about this field in which I hope to pursue a career in.  I am passionate about exercise and more specifically about running!  I have been a runner for over 10 years which has consisted of fun runs with my family, cross country, track and field, and more recently ultra-marathons. You can find me enjoying enjoying a run on the trails of Blackwater Creek or at Riveside Runners where I am a Sales Associate.

I truly believe that movement is medicine no matter how you choose to do it and setting a goal such as completing a 5k is a perfect stepping stone to making your life more active! I am so excited to have the opportunity to coach this running group and see people accomplish their goals."
