Lighten-Up Lynchburg is a timed 5K Run/Walk to encourage activity and increase awareness about the obesity epidemic. This race is hosted by the Lynchburg Mayor's Youth Council, and a portion of the money earned will go towards raising obesity awareness.
The 5K will take place at Peaks View Park--a very flat course, so predict fast times! Please park at either the Ardmore or Tenbury Drive entrance.
Packet Pickup will take place at Riverside Runners on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 12-6pm, and Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 8-8:30am at Peaksview Park. Registration will be available during these times as well. The race will begin at 9:00 am.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top two finishers, male and female, for each of the following age groups: 12 & Under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Up.
T-shirts are guaranteed to everyone who registers by February 1, 2018. The t-shirts are unisex sizes and 100% cotton.
