Join Us for Lynchburg's Only St. Patrick's Day Run – The St. Paddy's Day 5K!

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an energetic 5K in downtown Lynchburg! The St. Paddy’s Day 5K, presented by Park View Community Mission, invites runners and walkers of all abilities to dress in festive green, enjoy lively camaraderie, all while giving back to our community. Proceeds benefit Park View Community Mission's Food for Thought program, helping to combat childhood food-insecurity across our region.

After crossing the finish line, join the post-race party at The Water Dog Restaurant, featuring live music starting at noon, adult beverages, and delicious food (weather permitting)!

About Park View Community Mission's Food for Thought Program:
Food for Thought provides food-insecure students with nourishing meals to sustain them over weekends, supporting academic and social success. Every participant in the St. Paddy’s Day 5K helps students thrive and grow.

5K Run & Walk Details:

Date & Time: March 15, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Location: This festive race takes place in the heart of downtown Lynchburg, following a scenic route that highlights some of the city's most beautiful natural landscapes. The course utilizes part of the Blackwater Creek Trail, and our city's landscape, which creates a perfect blend of Lynchburg's urban charm and the serene surroundings of the trail. 

Timing: Professionally timed by Riverside Runners. Open to ages 8 and up.

St Paddy's Day 5K Swag:

• St. Paddy's Day 5K t-shirt - All participants in the 5k race will receive a custom-designed, unisex, short-sleeve, t-shirt (register by February 16th to guarantee your shirt) and a swag bag at packet pickup. Extra shirts will be ordered and available on a first-come basis at packet pickup and race day for those that register after the guaranteed deadline.
• Finisher medal for all who complete the race
• Post-race food and an awards ceremony
• St. Paddy's Day necklace for the first 100 registrants

Register early and save! Early Bird (11/1/24 - 1/1/25): $30
Standard (1/2/25 - 3/14/25): $35
Race Day (3/15/25) : $40
12 & Under: $15 (does not include race shirt; however shirt can be purchased for an additional $10)
Family Discount: Save $5 per registration when signing up 4 or more participants (applied at checkout; not retroactive).
Additional Discounts:
Current Lynchburg Road Runners Club (LRRC) members enjoy a $5 discount if registered by January 2, 2025. Membership must be current on race day to qualify. No refunds or retroactive discounts.

REFUND POLICY: Registration fees and purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. Entries cannot be transferred to another participant or deferred to another event, or the same event but another year. If the "in-person" event is canceled for any reason, those participants will automatically be moved to the "virtual event". Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount:  A $5.00 discount is available to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. Discounts will not be given after  March 1, 2025.  Participant membership must be current with LRRC membership roster found on RunSignUp. Discount will be given at checkout automatically. Refunds and/or discounts will not be given after completing online race registration. Discount does not apply to special 12 & under pricing. The LRRC discount period is January 2, 2025 – March 1, 2025. Please note:  A LRRC discount is valid only for participants whose membership is current on race day (3/15/2025). Packet Pickup:

Friday, March 14, 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Riverside Runners (2480 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503)
Race Day, March 15, 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. at Riverfront Park (exact location TBD)

Parking:
Available along Jefferson Street, nearby city lots, and parking garages at 9th and Commerce Streets.

Awards:
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, top Master Male & Female, as well as the top three in each age/gender category for the 5k run. (12 & under, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over).  All Finishers will receive a unique finisher medal to remember their accomplishment.

Race Policies:

• Strollers: Walking participants with strollers may join, starting immediately after the main race. Please stay single-file for safety.
• Headphones: For safety, headphones are not permitted.
• Pets: For safety reasons, pets are not allowed on the course.
