A Service Dog for J 5K

***Registration CLOSES Thursday, September 6th at 12 pm (noon).  RACE DAY registration will be available on site.  Cost for same day registration is $25 cash or check only.

The first 5K for J will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 to raise funds for a service dog for Jameson Peaslee, a 7 year old boy who was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old. The Peaslee family has been very involved in the Marion Humane Society for several years and has fostered several dogs and cats. Having a service dog will provide Jameson with stability and help promote independence which will enable him to be more social and help the Peaslee family be more involved in the Marion community.  The service dog will be trained to comfort Jameson when he is having a melt-down by providing deep pressure which will be calming for him. Jameson will also learn to be tethered to his service dog for safe outings in the community.
