Super H 5K Run, Walk, and Wheel

Run, walk, or roll a 5K and show support for the MedStar NRH Adaptive Sports athletes!!  Whether it's your first 5K, or you are trying to set your personal best, join us!

MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to making it possible for individuals of all abilities to lead healthy, active lifestyles. From our preschool Tiny Tots program to our competitive sports teams, we provide programs to meet our athletes' goals whether to be a recreational or elite athlete! This past year because of your philanthropic support, we got to celebrate 2 of our athletes participating in the US Paralympics Games and bringing home 2 gold medals!! Congrats to Trevon Jenifer (wheelchair basketball) and Evan Nichols (sled hockey)! Our programs provide free adaptive sports activities with expert coaching, specialized equipment (sports wheelchairs, sleds, cycles), competitions, and travel expenses to our out-of-town tournaments. The Super H 5K is a time for us to celebrate our athletes and ensure we continue to provide financial support and programming. We are grateful for the generosity of our participants who are outside of the area. 

About Super H
The Super H™ Race was created by Harry (Super H) and Renie Freedman after Harry had a serious workplace accident which required the amputation of his leg. Harry and Renie have been dedicated to raising money for our adaptive sports programs at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital ever since. It has become their mission to share with others the same kind of encouragement and support that Harry received. 

Virtual participants can run anytime and anywhere September 18 through 24 and promote their times and distance on Instagram and Facebook with #SuperH2022.

Where:
We will host our live event at Tysons Sport & Health (8250 Greensboro Dr. McLean, VA 22102). Or runners/walkers/rollers have the option to participate in any location and record and report their results within a week's time. Athletes will have the opportunity to put their disciplined training to use, with the added convenience of competing their race mileage right where they are.

Highlights:
Super H is also creating challenges and activities throughout the virtual race week to make the event fun and engaging. Details will follow and be on their social media networks and website.

What we support:
Your participation supports the Adaptive Sports programs at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network, which helps children and adults with physical disabilities to pursue healthy, active lifestyles through recreational and competitive sports. 

Registration Fee:
5K Adult: $35 through July 31
                 $40 August 1 - September 14
                 $45 September 15 - September 18
5K 13 & Under: $25 through July 31
                       $30 August 1 - September 14
                       $35 September 15 - September 18

Online registration will close on Wednesday, September 14, at 8:00 pm

Packet pick up will be at the race site, Tysons Sport and Health (8250 Greensboro Dr. McLean, VA 22102), Sunday, September 18 starting at 6:45 am.
