Rally Round the Flag - Middleburg 5k

On Saturday, November 19th, 2022, the Middleburg American Legion Post 295 and Boy Scout Troop 2950 are holding the “Rally ‘round the Flag” 5-K Run. The purpose is to raise funds for the Post, the Scout Troop, and for our Scholarship and Needy Veterans Fund.  The success of this event relies on the support of our local citizens and businesses.

The “Rally ‘round the Flag” 5-K Run kicks off at 8:30 a.m. for the 5K for runners and walkers. The charge for the event is $30 and includes a tee-shirt, racing bib, and breakfast. The breakfast at the American Legion’s Patriot’s Hall is optional for all spectators, and a modest donation for breakfast is appreciated. There will be an Awards Ceremony hosted by our own Sgt. Rob Jones, (USMC Ret.) for the 5K at the end of the race.

Middleburg 5K Course

The 5K course will take you through some incredible scenery on the campus of The Hill School in the heart of Middleburg. The race begins and ends next to the athletic fields. Runners will head west from the starting line on the road, then turn onto the gravel path around the outdoor science center, pond, and fields. A small portion of the route is grass between the amphitheater and the Flagpole. On your second lap, you will head west to the fields and back to the road to the finish line right where you started. See the map below. The 5K is for all runners, joggers, and walkers. Dogs (on leashes) and strollers are welcome on the route.

HOW TO GET THERE AND WHERE TO PARK

The Hill School is located at:
130 S. Madison Street
Middleburg, VA 20117

The entrance to the school is off The Plains Road and will be closed, please use the entrance off Madison Street only. The start and the finish line are behind The Hill School – near the athletic fields.

Parking is available at the school.

Race day registration will be $35.00.

RACE DAY PERKS
5K Run T-Shirts are guaranteed for all runners who register before November 1st, 2019. After that date, availability is not guaranteed but available while supplies last. Shirts come in adult and youth sizes.

 Refreshments for all runners and supporters after the 5K

 Awards for the top male and female finisher and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in each age category.
