Virtual Sweetheart 8K

The in-person Sweetheart 8K on Sunday, Feb. 14 is cancelled.

The current freezing rain is creating road conditions that are/will be unsafe for running and driving. Chesterfield County Police advised us to cancel the race.

The RRRC Sweetheart 8K, presented by TowneBank, is an annual Richmond Road Runners Club event that for 2021 offers two options for Valentine's Day running or walking.

The Sweetheart 8K will be an in-person race on Sunday, February 14 (Valentine's Day) featuring a scenic 8K (5 mile) course through The Grove and Walton Park communities, historic Midlothian Coal Mine Park, and the surrounding roads and trails. The race starts and finishes at the Urban Farmhouse in The Millworks in Midlothian. Participation is capped at 225 runners. Please review our COVID-19 Procedures & PrecautionsThere is no kids run this year.

The Virtual Sweetheart 8K will allow you to run when, where, and with whom you please on Sunday, February 14 (Valentine's Day). You may post your results between Friday, Feb. 12 and Sunday, Feb. 21.

Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2021. RRRC GP participants receive a race point for posting a time for either event. RRRC GP participants in the in-person race will receive place points based on overall and/or age group finish times.

NOTE: Details provided below about packet pick up and race day activities are tentative and subject to change. Registered participants will receive updated information a few days before the race.

Urban Farmhouse

Urban Farmhouse again is helping to host the Sweetheart 8K.

Urban Farmhouse has reduced seating capacity indoors and on the patio to maintain social distancing guidelines. The staff wear masks at all times and, per guidelines, only allow those with masks to enter.

The real restrictions are the restrooms! Runners will have to use the portable toilets provided outdoors.

Urban Farmhouse encourages online ordering for pickup and curbside. They plan to have a special "cash only" section for quick purchases.

There is ample parking in and around the Millworks.
