Run For Tanzania

Join us for the 3rd Annual Run for Tanzania!  The run is a 5K (3.3 miles to be exact) trail run or walk in beautiful Powhatan State Park on an earthen trail along the river and through the woods. The trail has rocks, roots, and hills. Difficulty is moderate.  A Kid's Fun Run will take place at 8:30 am before the main race begins. The kids will run about .25 miles on a dirt and grassy path. All the kids will receive a participation medal.

You're sure to have a fun time with family and friends walking or running. Prizes will be awarded to top achievers in various categories. (First place male and female, 2nd place male and female, first place team of 4)

EVENT INFORMATION:

1. The race is September 7, 2024 at 9:00 am. Kids' Fun Run is at 8:30 am.
2. The location is Powhatan State Park.  4616 Powhatan State Park Road, Powhatan, VA 23139.  Directions
3. The event will begin at the Equestrian/Trailhead Lot. Directional signs will be posted.
4. Parking at the State Park is $5 per vehicle.
5. This is a timed and chipped race for those who are running to compete.
6. The packet pick up is Friday, September 6, at Passion Community Church in Midlothian (50 Old Otterdale Rd.).PCC Directions 
7. Packets can also be picked up at the race before 8:45 am.
8. There will be donuts, bananas, granola bars, and plenty of water.
9. Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt.
