The 35th running of the Frostbite 15K, one of Richmond Road Runners Club's signature events, will occur in January 2019. The course is an out-and-back, USATF certified route through Byrd Park and the neighborhoods bordering Byrd Park and Maymont. Much of the course is flat but there are some testy hills. We will have an indoor facility at Amelia Street School, which is at the course Start/Finish. Registration is limited to 1,000 runners.
Date, time, course and details are tentative and subject to change. Registration will open in Fall 2018.
The 15K course winds in and around Byrd Park and Maymont Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Two water stops will support runners at approximately mile 3.5, 4.5, 6 and 7.5 on the course.
This is a road race conducted under the rules of USATF and RRCA. In consideration of the safety of all participants, the following are not allowed on the course during the race: baby joggers, baby strollers, animals on leash, skateboards, inline or roller skates, or bicycles. The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, RRRC encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Frostbite 15K.
PLEASE NOTE THE COURSE IS NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY. BE ALERT, WATCH FOR TRAFFIC & PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FELLOW RUNNERS, COURSE MARSHALS, AND POLICE. *THERE IS A COURSE LIMIT TIME OF 2 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES.*
