Fun Run/Walk, Covid 19 sucks
Race for the Beer 2020!
This is the second "running" of a race that started with a group of friends, that then ran a race together and NOW are running a different kind of race again, and YOU get to be part of this ever growing community!
This is a virtual race and YOU get to choose how and where you run/walk it! There are three basic ways you can participate:
1. Run/Walk the Course. If you are local to the Richmond, VA area you can choose to run our "official" course on your own time, any time during the week of the race (12:01 AM Friday November 20 - 11:59 PM Friday, November 27.) You can then post your finish time to the website or use the official race app to publish your route and time for you.
2. Race Day UPDATE. You can choose to run on our "Unofficial race day" either on our "official" course, or on your own course. Unofficial Race day is set for SUNDAY November 22 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. I and a small crew of race volunteers will be hosting a Social Distanced race and post race get together in/near Joseph Bryan Park. Racers will start by themselves (or in pre-existing pods) and run the prescribed course. Then we will have a small finish line celebration maintaining social distance and a TBD socially Distanced post race hangout (weather permitting).
3. It's your race, Run it your way. You can choose to run or walk the entire race on your own route. We will be using an app for folks to use so that you can publish your route and your times here on the website Or you can just enter your finish time via the website directly. You can choose to run/walk it all in one go, or you can break it up into runs/walks that better suit your ability and availability.
All Participants that register before November 2nd will receive an official race T-shirt (Finial design TBD) and an official finishers medal (Finial design TBD). The cost of the race is $25 and any additional funds raised over costs will be donated to a local Richmond VA charity. (Participants that register AFTER November 2nd will only receive a finishers medal) The cost of the Finishers Medal ONLY is $15. You will also be able to print up your official race bib to wear for race day if you like and after you submit your results you will receive a digital finishers certificate!
So hit that big red SIGN UP button, get your self registered and get ready for the most fun you can have running by yourself, apart together and together apart!
Also, Quick tip. If you are registering multiple racers from one household you can save on fees if you do them all at once. The fee system for this website is based per transaction, not number of registrants. At least, that's what they tell me.
