Our Annual They Gave All 5K presented by Loyalty Automotive will be VIRTUAL this year.
While the structure of the TGA 5K may be different this year, the goal—to remember those who have given their lives in service—remains the same.
We are inviting all registrants and teams to run, walk, wheel, or march in formation November 4th - 10th as we prepare to honor those who serve on Veterans Day.
During race week, we will be highlighting heroes from the walls of our shrine and reminding all of our mission to honor veterans, preserve history, educate youth, and inspire patriotism in all. As a participant in this event, you help support the free educational programming for students and veterans provided by the Memorial.
You do not have to run alone. Many runners and teams are preparing to run or walk together in honor of those who gave all. Rally the troops, practice your cadence songs, and make the 2020 TGA 5K race one for the history books.
The Virginia War Memorial Foundation is grateful to Loyalty Automotive has agreed to support this race as our Presenting Sponsor for the 5th consecutive year.
Because of the unusual circumstances this year, we now have participants running the TGA 5K from all corners of Virginia--and beyond!
If you're planning on running and are not going to be in the Richmond area, please email Kerrie Arcand at karcand@vawarmemorial.org. We can arrange shipping for your race-day packet and help connect you with other participants in your area on race day.

How are we showing our appreciation for our service personnel?
All participants will receive a Race-in-Honor bib, sponsored by Richmond’s VFW Post 6364. You can write the name of a service person on the bib for whom you are running. We are strongly encouraging all participants to share their photos with us on social media or email them to us at mmwachur@vawarmemorial.org, so we can show how we are “honoring together” this November.
Are we offering Memorial Flags for purchase this year?
One of the special features of our in-person race is the placement of American Flags at the start/finish line to honor veterans. In past years, those flags have been sponsored by supporters who choose a serviceperson’s name to recognize.
This year, because we will not be together at one unified start/finish line, we are not offering flag sponsorships, although you can make a gift in honor of a veteran on our race sign up page.
To make sure all participants have an opportunity to honor veterans, we are providing all registrants with a race bib, sponsored by the VFW Chapter 6364 of Richmond. On your bib, you will have the opportunity to display the name of someone you are running to honor. We encourage all to wear your race bibs with pride and send us your pictures of you and your “Quaran-Team” proudly wearing them on race day.
Is there a kids fun run this year?
This year, due to the virtual nature of this race, we are not having a kids fun run nor offering a “BedHead” runner package. We hope to bring both of these features back once we can resume hosting the race in-person.
Can I Volunteer?
We do not have race-day volunteers this year, because the race is virtual. But, if you are interested in helping to stuff race packets, please contact Kerrie Arcand at karcand@vawarmemorial.org
Does this race support any charities?
This race is presented through the Virginia War Memorial Foundation, the non-profit partner of the Virginia War Memorial. All proceeds raised support the Foundation mission “to honor veterans, preserve history, educate youth, and inspire patriotism in all.”
