Description
This is an unofficial race, unofficially sponsored by Race Team RVA Running Club.
Join us for an "unofficial run fun," meaning there are no race day marshals, no water stops, no support along the course, no race bibs, no race t-shirts, no timing chips, no awards, and no entry fee. We just ask that you bring a canned food item for donation. And if you want to register so you have this on your calendar, please register here - it's free.
This is a free, voluntary social run that is organized for the purpose of running Thanksgiving morning with members of the Richmond community and the opportunity to give back through our canned food drive. If you can, bring a canned or dry food item to the run. We donate all food to the Salvation Army after the run. Help feed those that are less fortunate on this Thanksgiving Day, plus enjoy a great run with friends and the community.
If you have not run the pipelines in Richmond or the slave trail, this is a must do run. We run over the pipelines in downtown Richmond (next to the James River assuming there is no flooding and we can run over the pipes), then we proceed over the 14th Street Bridge, then head towards the Slave Trails for about a 1 mile trail run, then return. The total distance is about a 10k. You can run, walk or both. There are parts of this run (the pipeline for example, where you have to walk or run slowly). The pipleine has railings so you won't fall over, but still need to be careful running along the pipeline.
Meet in the parking lot beside the American Civil War Museum on Tredegar Street, across from Brown's Island at 7am. We can't wait to see you there!
