Think you're tough? The Triple Trail Challenge is the ultimate test for trail lovers everywhere! Hike, walk, or run marked trail loops at Pocahontas State Park, Leakes Mill Park, & James River Park. The goal is to complete the 30.6 miles as quickly as you can from January 23-31, but there is one catch—the clock doesn’t stop running until you’ve taken down all three trails! Whether a leisurely affair or a single-day attempt, 2,515 feet of climbing is no small feat!

Pick your start trail (please note Leakes Mill & Pocohontas do not allow night running).
Your time starts when you leave the parking lot for your first loop & ends when you finish the third loop. Yes, your travel time between trails does count in your total time. If you stop for lunch or go to the bathroom the clock keeps ticking.
You can do it over the week or all in one day. Up to you! If you do all three trails in one day your finish time will look more like 12ish hours, but for the weekday/weekend warrior your finish time will be in days.
For the safety of you and other trail users around you, we strongly suggest you carry a face mask/covering to wear when passing others along these single track trails.
Courses will be marked with arrows and start/finish signage.

For FKT, the time starts when you leave the first parking lot for your first trail loop and ends when you arrive back after completing your third trail loop at the third parking lot. You can also do the trail loops in any order. You will just need to keep track of your adventure with an GPS device to validate your time.
Note: Total time includes travel between parks, walking/running each of the 3 trail loops, lunch/snack breaks, etc.
