Cross Country 5K
Looks like we're going to make this an annual event!
Feb 6 will be cold, no doubt, but you can sleep late, let it warm up a little, and then race a cross country 5K at Verdun Adventure Bound at 11:00 AM.
To take the chill off, hot chocolate will be served around a roaring campfire at the finish line next to the pavilion.
This race is a fundraiser with all proceeds going to support Verdun Adventure Bound. Verdun is a educational 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to support youth and adult personal growth incorporating experiential learning and stewardship of the land on its 66 acre retreat facility. Check them out at the link below.
$25 pre-registration through noon Jan 31.
$30 on race day.
Long Sleeve Race T-Shirt included for those who pre-reg by a cut-off date (to be determined... we're talking to our supplier).
Verdun has a beautiful cross country course with just enough hills to make it interesting. There is a lot of variety in surface and terrain... in and out of the woods, along side two ponds, over a couple streams (don't worry... foot bridges). See the map below for the expected course (which may change if conditions dictate).
We will have age and gender group awards as follows:
Open: 5 places
Female: 3 places
Male: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+
Female: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+
NOTE: Runners can win in multiple categories.
