The Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown challenge is back with an amazing medal and more options! We're excited to invite runners from all over the country to Virginia's Blue Ridge for the area's three biggest half marathons and 10K/8K races. There's also a Triple Crown option for the shorter races, dubbed the "Triple Crown Sprint Series."
These series show who the most dedicated runners are by rewarding those that finish the three races with some serious bling!
Rules
To earn the Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown medal, participants must register for all three of these races:
- The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Full or Half Marathon - April 18, 2026
- The Salem Half Marathon- October 10, 2026
- The Star City Half Marathon- November 21, 2026
Participants who register for all three races will of course get serious bragging rights, but will also be awarded with an awesome 4" Virginia’s Blue Ridge Triple Crown medal! Triple Crown participants must complete all three half marathon or greater distances.
To earn the Bank of Botetourt Triple Crown Sprint Series medal, participants must register for all three of these races:
- The Anthem Star-10K or Freedom First Team Relay - April 18, 2026
- The Salem Half 8K- October 10, 2026
- The Star City 10K- November 21, 2026
Participants who register for all three races will of course get serious bragging rights, but will also be awarded with an awesome 3" Bank of Botetourt Triple Crown Sprint Series medal!
Bonus: Mix & Match!
If you choose to run one or more half marathon (or greater distance) and one or more of the shorter distance races for a total of 3 races (one in each of the Blue Ridge, Salem, and Star City races), you will qualify for the Triple Crown Sprint Series medal!
Rules and Regulations:
- Participants must register for each race individually to be eligible for either medal. Use the same email address to register for all three races. Registering for one race does not automatically register you for the other races.
- Medals will be awarded on a first registered, first awarded basis, so register early! You will only be considered awarded a medal once you register for all 3 races. Due to production time, we must order medals EXTRA early, so Triple Crown medals are limited to 175 participants in each category... register early to guarantee your medal!
- We want to see you race in person as much as possible! For 2026, we require that 2 of your 3 races be in person.
- We prefer that you pick up your medal in person at the Star City Half Marathon or arrange for a front porch pickup, but if you need your medal mailed to you, contact us and we'll mail it for a small fee.
ABOUT THE 2026 MEDALS:
The 2026 Triple Crown and Sprint Series medals draw inspiration from the iconic World Marathon Majors six-star design, celebrating the achievement of completing the region’s premier race series. Six outer medallions form a circular “crown,” with the top three showcasing the official logos of each qualifying race. The bottom three feature custom symbols representing the unique character and spirit of each event.
At the center, a seventh medallion proudly displays the series sponsor logo and commemorative 2026 mark, accented by a banner bearing the series title. Suspended beneath a bold blue ribbon, the medal design symbolizes the connection between all three races and the dedication required to complete the series. The result is a collectible piece that honors both the journey and the accomplishment of every finisher.
