Description
Join us for a virtual Earth Day challenge pairing moving your body and picking up our shared spaces! As this is a virtual challenge, you can select any route you like and cleanup any space you wish! Go for a hike and bring your supplies with you. Go for a run and when you're finished, cool-down with some cleanup! Recruit your colleagues for an active lunch break! Challenge yourself, your friends, your colleagues, and your family to see who can cleanup the most trash--do good for your body and the environment!
Clean Valley Council will be providing:
- Trash Bags for all participants – The orange trash bags used for cleanups.
- Gloves for all participants – The fabric type with the coated fingers and palms for people to keep.
- Hand Sanitizer – Individual spray hand sanitizers for people to keep.
- Data Cards – Simple card included with the cleanup materials that participants fill out with name, location and quantity of trash collected. Folks complete card, snap a picture, and send to the CVC email address printed on the card. Trash quantity will be recorded and evaluated by CVC staff for our "most trash collected" awards by an individual and a team.
While this is a fun-run only (PS- walking welcomed!), we will have PRIZES for a few registered participants. Stay tuned for more info on all available categories. Also up for grabs: A FREE PAIR OF SHOES! Not a bad deal right... move your body, clean up your neighborhood, win some stuff?
Packets and materials will be available for pickup at RunAbout Sports Roanoke prior to the start of the recording time period (April 9- April 23). Check your email toward the end of March for more info on picking up your Good Neighbors 5k "race packets"!
