Pay to sign up for the Pawpalooza Parade - a fundraiser for the Angels of Assisi. Children 12 and under parade free. Watch the parade or the dog activities after the parade at Highland Park for free. Registration fee for the parade is $10 per adult, $25 if you have a Very Important Pooch (VIP) and want to be at the front of the Parade. When you register, you will be asked to provide the names of your dogs so they can be judged for awards at the conclusion of the parade. A number of dogs will be available for adoption at Highland Park after the parade, and they will parade with us, including our Grand Marshall dog from Angels of Assisi.
Parking in First Baptist church parking lots on Marshall Avenue (access lots down 4th Street from Elm). Parade check-in at Franklin and Elm begins at 8:15 AM and ends at 8:45 AM. Please see PDF of parade route below. Parade starts at 9:00 AM at Franklin Road and Elm, proceeding down Franklin Road sidewalk. Right from Franklin at Washington Avenue road closure to Highland Park. Parade ends at the Highland Park fields where dog events begin. Our celebrity judges may select your dog as most likely to win the Nobel Prize, most likely to run off with the circus, or most likely to sleep through class. Shuttles run every 15 minutes back to your vehicle at First Baptist Church.
Event sponsored by the Historic Old Southwest Neighborhood Association as a fundraiser for Angels of Assisi. Angels is a non-profit that operates the largest private animal shelter in the Roanoke Valley, as well as a low cost Community Pet Clinic and farm animal sanctuary.
Angels of Assisi, Roanoke Valley SPCA, Salem Animal Shelter, the Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection, and the Star City Greyhounds will all be adopting dogs after the Pawpalooza Parade at the Highland Park fields. No charge to participate in Highland Park events and adoption related activities. However, you must register on this site and pay to walk in the Parade. Pawpalooza Parade is a fund-raiser for Angels of Assisi.
