45th Health Focus of Southwest Virginia Salem Distance Run – August 10, 2019

5K: Race starts at 8:00 am, $25.00 (includes t-shirt). Additional $5.00 if mailed or registered after August 3rd.
10K: Race starts at 8:00 am, $30.00 (includes t-shirt). Additional $5.00 if mailed or registered after August 3rd.
Registration: Friday, August 9, 4:00-7:00 pm or Saturday, August 10, 6:30-7:45 am at Longwood Park.
Packet Pickup: Friday, August 9, 400-7:00 pm or Saturday, August 10, beginning at 6:30 am at Longwood Park

No dogs in park by Salem City Police Ordinance
No pets or strollers, please.
Cut-off for race day registration is 7:45 a.m. and is limited to the first 600 runners.
Both races start near “Easter Seals” at 201 East Main Street and end at Longwood Park.
Award presentations are in Longwood Park immediately following the races.

WELCOME BACK MICHAEL WARDIAN !!!
Wardian, 43, started running and competing in triathlons in 1996 after finishing his lacrosse career at Michigan State University, where he played attack for the Division 1 team. Michael’s first marathon in 1996 was the Marine Corps Marathon with the only goal of qualifying was for the Boston Marathon and he did with a time of 3:08. Since his first race Wardian has completed more than 170 marathons, 70+ Ultra Marathons on six (6) continents and The North Pole, 20 triathlons, including Iron Man lake Placid, and one (1) adventure race.
