1 Mile Alzheimer's Fun Run/Walk

Dear Community Partners & Friends:    On March 29, 2014, Colonial Forge High School's Learn & Serve program will host the 1 Mile Alzheimer's Fun Run/Walk at Colonial Forge High School. On this day, Colonial Forge High School Learn & Serve, along with HUNDREDS of other Stafford County Schools students will showcase and interactively demonstrate the service and learning they are fostering in and with their communities. This special occasion is called Agents of Change Day and will be held at Colonial Forge!   Learn & Serve will host a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk open to all ages and abilities. We will also have an array of  FUN interactive Brain Games and activity stations to help participants understand the impact of Alzheimer's on the body and brain. All Fun Run/Walk and Brain Game participants have the opportunity to win a prize or award!   As this disease hits home for myself and many of my students personally, we have partnered directly with the Alzheimer's Association and are committed to helping find the CAUSE and CURE for this terrible disease that impacts over 5 MILLION Americans today. The event will be held on the Colonial Forge High School track. Registration will be from 8:30 - 9:30 am. The race begins at 9:30 am. The Awards Ceremony will take place at 10:30 am. Brain Games and activities will be run throughout the entire day. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association and Alzheimer's education, research, care and support.
