Run for Hope Virtual 5K

This year Hawassa Hope invites you to participate in our very first Virtual 5K race benefitting our clean water initiative!

Between October 11th through the 17th you will have the opportunity to log a 5k (3 mile) run or walk wherever you are in the world and at the same time help us fund our next clean water project. Help us provide clean water to these families while also having a little fun!

Race prize package will include a t-shirt, medal, glass water bottle, and printable bib!

The fastest time sent to us via screenshot of a running app will receive an Hawassa Hope hoodie and tshirt!  

We will award 1 man and woman under 30 age group and 30 and above age group! 

Clean Water Facts:

Join our 5K to raise funds for a spring water project in Chirone, Ethiopia!  This water project will provide over 5,500 people with easy access to clean water. Currently, this community has to purchase jarred water that is brought in from other sources via donkey. To learn more about our organization check out our website at HawassaHope.org 

Quick Facts:

• 43.4M people in Ethiopia don’t have access to safe water. This is over half of the population.
• Over 67 million people don’t have access to adequate sanitation in Ethiopia, almost four-fifths of the population.
• Around 33,000 children die every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation in Ethiopia.
