Description

Join us on the 5th Annual Stroke Comeback Trail

Raise stroke awareness and support survivors in their comeback journey.

This is a virtual event in honor of World Stroke Day, October 29! Pick a time between Thursday, October 24 and Sunday, October 27, 2024 to complete a route of your own choice. Participants can choose a 5K Run, Walk or Roll, or the 1-mile Survivor Challenge. Once you’ve finished your route, simply login to the race registration website, record your results, and celebrate your accomplishment!

Proceeds will benefit the Stroke Comeback Center and our community of stroke and brain trauma survivors committed to living successful and productive lives. We are a non-profit organization that offers support along the slow road to better. Our members, professionals, volunteers, and families know that recovery continues forever. Thanks to generous donor support, no stroke survivor is ever turned away for inability to pay.

Registration:

  • 5K Run/Walk/Roll: $35
  • 1-Mile Survivor Challenge: $35
  • Youth Run/Walk/Roll (either distance, ages 5-17): $15

Participants who register by October 1 will have the option to receive a race-branded t-shirt. All participants will receive an electronic race bib to print at home and a digital race packet.

Race Route: Choose a route that works for you. Use a route planning app like Map My Run, your GPS, or your car odometer to plan your route.

Form a Team: We accomplish more when we work together! Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join you on the Stroke Comeback Trail. Near or far, everyone is welcome to participate in this virtual event. Win a prize for the biggest team!

Follow Us on Social Media: Each photo posted is a chance to win a prize! Post your pictures on Facebook or and Instagram with the tag #strokecomebacktrail2024

Prizes: Virtual events are all about fun, community, and raising awareness. We celebrate everyone who rises to this challenge. Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Biggest team
  • Most individual fundraising dollars
  • Randomly selected from photos posted to social media

Donations: If you are unable to participate but would still like to support our community of stroke and brain trauma survivors, tax-deductible donations are welcome on this page or at www.strokecomebackcenter.org/donate-now

Get Some Swag: All participants will receive an electronic race bib to print at home and digital race materials. Participants who register by October 1, 2024 will have the option to purchase a race-branded t-shirt for $5 ($3 for youth sizes). Show your support for stroke survivors and improve public awareness of stroke signs and symptoms with our BE FAST (Balance, Eyes, Face, Arms, Speech, Time to call 911) event shirts! Shirts may be picked up in Vienna or Rockville or can be mailed for a small fee. Must register by October 1 to ensure your race shirt!

Shirt Pick-up: Let us know where you'd like to pick up your race shirt. Pickup will be available at our Vienna Center (145 Park St., SE) Monday, October 21 through Thursday, October 24, 9:30 - 4:00 p.m. Shirts can also be mailed for a small fee.
