West Point 5K 4 Music

Welcome to the 3rd annual West Point 5K 4 Music!  This race benefits the West Point Public Schools Music Departments.

Our students continue to raise the bar in terms of musical achievement and as such, demand the highest level of instruction, resources, and support.  Yearly expenses for our music department include purchasing music, instruments, repairs, uniforms and cleaning, travel costs, competition fees, music software, specialized staff fees, and the list could go on and on.  

Throughout the past year, West Point music students have been successful in many different musical outlets.  Elementary students have participated in All-State events, high school chorus students have been selected to the Virginia Music Educator’s Honors Choir, and a record number of band students have placed in All-District and All-State events.  In addition, both the Chorus and Band have received “Superior Ratings” at Virginia’s state music assessments.  Our music students have traveled to England, Florida, Winston-Salem, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Chesapeake, and Norfolk to follow their love and passion for music.

All participants who register by April 17th will recieve a 2016 Race T-Shirt, Finish Line Goodie Bag, and a memorable Saturday morning race in beautiful downtown West Point.

 A medal will be awarded to the top male and female runner in each of the following age groups.
0-11 (Elementary School)
12-18 (6-12 grade)

30-39
40-49
50 and above
