Description
The Summer Family Track Series is back! This exhilarating series is designed to unite families through weekly summer track events. Expect friendly competitions and the adrenaline rush of running on a track. Open to all family members, this series promotes active participation from both children and adults, offering a chance to stay active, bond with loved ones, and craft unforgettable memories, regardless of your athletic background.
Location: Millbrook HS Track
Day: Wednesdays
Dates: 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31
Time: Check-In 6 p.m; race begins at 6:30 pm
Ages: 6+ for the track events
50 M. Dash (3-5 years old) - FREE; please check in onsite to register your child for this event!
Runners will be split into several heats depending on the number of participants present. Races will be hand timed.
Weekly Format
Format:
Arrive between 5:45-6:15 pm to check-in for race bib (bibs used for only series events)
Warm-up/stretch time
6:30 pm: 50 m. dash (ages 3-5)
Weekly Event will follow
Weekly Distances:
Week #1: 1600 m. run
Week #2: 800 m. and Relay
Week #3: 3200 m. run; Kids 200 m. dash
Week #4: 400 m. run and Relay
Each Week will also offer an untimed 50 m. dash for ages 3-5.
INCLEMENT WEATHER - meets are subject to cancellation due to extreme heat. Storm Delays - If there is lightning within a 10-mile radius of the track, activity will be halted and not be able to resume until the lightning has cleared the 10-mile radius.
