Crushing Cancer and COVID-19 - A Virtual Walk/Run benefitting The Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation

So many of the little things that we took for granted are now a challenge with Covid-19.  One of these was our opportunity to unite as a community supporting women with cancer and fundraising for The Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation at our Spring Thaw Fundraising event which is our largest fundraiser of the year.  As a replacement for that event, we welcome you to join in the first BSNCF Virtual Challenge. We hope this virtual event will inspire and energize you while raising funds for The Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation.   

What is a Virtual Challenge?  A Virtual Challenge is one completed on your own time, in your own way.   You may practice social distancing while you participate during the prescribed time frame solo or with your family.   Walkers and runners are welcome!   BSNCF swag is available for purchase during registration.  

The guidelines are simple:

• Choose your distance - 1 mile, 5k, 10k, 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles
• Complete your distance between 6:00 AM (EST) May 21 - 11:59 PM (EST) May 25 which is Memorial Day weekend
• Post photos on social media of your experience and training for awards!
• Additional fundraising is optional - and if you raise $200 you race for free and earn a BSNCF visor and shirt
• Invite your friends and family to join in the fun!  If 3 friends join using your referral code, you participate for free!

Handmade medals, a 3 inch car or computer sticker and green bag will be mailed to participants at the conclusion of the event.   Our medal partner is a small business based in the USA.  Medals will be pottery based glazed in BSNCF green.   

REGISTRATION:  The challenge is $30 donation and includes a mailed medal, printable race bib, 3 inch BSNCF sticker for car or computer, and a BSNCF green drawstring bag.   Optional BSNCF t-shirts and visors are available at check-out.  

OPTIONAL FUNDRAISING:  Our largest fundraiser of the year was cancelled due to Covid-19.   Help us fund our mission and send smiles across the miles by setting up a personal fundraising page in conjunction with this virtual event.   If you raise $200, you will RACE FOR FREE!  We will waive your entry and send you a t-shirt and visor.  

TEAM BSNCF:  You may also join Team BSNCF.  For $100, we will send you a Team Package which will include a medal, printable race bib, technical t-shirt or ladies tank, and visor.   You'll have access to our TEAM BSNCF closed Facebook group for support and inspiration.   

AWARDS:  Awards go to the participant with the most likes!  So put on your creative hat and tag us on Facebook!  

INVITE FRIENDS:   You can also race for free if 3 friends join in the fun and use your referral code!   Help us spread the word and have some fun!

SWAG:   BSNCF swag is available for purchase. 

COMBINE WITH OTHER VIRTUAL EVENTS: We realize that you may have another virtual race that weekend.  Feel free to combine your races for your own personal multi event challenge.   An award will be provided for the participant that completes the most run/walk miles by combining this challenge with another race(s).
