Celebrate the love of your life, or your love of running. Running single this year? No worries! Our bib numbers will have "single" on those who have indicated that they are, so if you see a hottie, just look at his/her bib number and strike up a conversation (socially distanced of course). You may find yourself a new running buddy!
This 5K course is an out-and-back which has a slight hill, but nothing too tough. All finishers will be awarded a Cupid 5K finisher's medal.
Commemorative t-shirts are available for pre-purchase for $15. Order yours when you register while supplies last.
If you knew Karen Newman, you knew love and light. Karen was and continues to be such an inspiration to us. Never have we met anyone who had such faith, determination, positivity and love for everyone around her.
Karen began racing in our triathlons many years ago and went on to win a silver medal for the Masters Age Group at 2012's Triathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand in addition to MANY other awards. Yet, she was never "too big" to participate in local races. In fact, the Cupid 5K was one of her favorites and when she came, she was dressed to the nines! The world lost Karen in November 2019. In her memory, Racevermont.com will be donating a percentage of the net income from this race to the Cancer Patient Support Foundation. Donations are also welcomed at registration - both online and in person. If you'd like to make a donation, feel free to click here to make a donation directly to the Cancer Patient Support Foundation.
In an effort to keep Vermont healthy during this pandemic, the State of Vermont has mandated that those who live in yellow or red areas on the map must quarantine for 14 days upon entry to Vermont or they may take a COVID test after 7 days and then come out of quarantine once they have a negative COVID result. If you are planning to race with us, you should know that Racevermont.com adheres to this policy. Please check this map link just prior to the race to be sure you will be allowed to run if you are from out of state.
With any luck, COVID-19 will not be a factor in the 2021 race. If it is, we will update our COVID-19 policies for the race.
Should this race get cancelled due to extreme weather or by order of the governor or other government official, you will have the option to either defer your registration to next year's Cupid 5K or transfer to another Racevermont.com race of equal or lesser value. We do not offer refunds for unattended races regardless of who cancels the race.
Whether or not we use starting corrals for this race depends entirely on what the COVID-19 situation looks like as we get closer to race day. You will be asked for your race pace during registration. If the need for social distancing still exists, we will arrange rolling starts based on race pace. Stay tuned for more information.
Please check back for pre-race information.
