Val Lofton

I joined RunSignup in 2018 and have worn quite a few hats along the way—Support, Account Management, leading our Onboarding team, and now Sales. In my current role, I work with race directors, timers, and endurance organizations to find the right solutions for their events, drawing on years of experience from just about every side of the industry.

Before joining RunSignup, I owned and operated my own race timing company for ten years, which means I understand firsthand what it’s like to be on the other side of the finish line—managing registrations, timing races, solving problems at 5:00 AM, and doing whatever it takes to put on a great event.

Running has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I competed collegiately in cross country and track & field, including a season at Florida State University (Go Noles!), and later found another passion in coaching. My husband and I have both coached youth athletes, and some of my favorite memories are from coaching undefeated middle school track teams and helping kids discover what they’re capable of.

These days, I still love everything about the endurance community—the people, the events, the ridiculous early mornings, and the way a finish line can bring an entire community together. Outside of work, I’m usually planning my next adventure, spending time outdoors with my family, or finding a new challenge to chase.

Apparently, my latest idea of a reasonable challenge is recovering from ACL surgery and setting my sights on an IRONMAN 70.3. Because simply learning to run again would have been far too normal.
